The Tales People Tell

Kelly guided the songs on ‘The Tales People Tell’ from their conception all the way to the record pressing plant over the course of two years. He wrote and produced each track on the record and plays 10 instruments throughout, while enlisting the help of friends and legends like drummer James Gadson (Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye, Beck), members of Monophonics, and Kelly’s own father, prominent sideman/keyboardist Mike Finnigan (Jimi Hendrix, Joe Cocker, Etta James). The result is a timeless collection underscored by a sense of community, a family affair of a record that’s at once raw and gritty, tender and emotive, lush and symphonic.

Project Management
I oversaw the development of branding, advertising, and marketing campaigns.

Conceptual Design
I worked directly with the artist making their idea for their album into a visually cohesive and marketable product.

Marketing & PR
For album release I prepared all outlets with one sheets for easy promotion as well as deliverables for marketing. I documented all incoming press and kept the artists up to date on media coverage and any changes that are needed to be made.

Album Photography
After confirming the final album brand, I scouted locations, selected clothing and photographed in both digital and film. These images were used for several album designs, posters and all marketing materials.
