Creative Director
Colemine Records | Employed between 2015 - Present
With almost a decade in the soul and funk music industry, I'm eager for a new chapter of growth with a fresh company. I married into the business, growing it from a team of 3 (my husband, his brother and myself) to a team of 26 employees with benefits. After years of amicably working alongside my now ex-husband I’ve decided it’s time for me to move to new adventures. While proud of Colemine Records' success, I look forward to exploring new horizons and contributing my skills to a new organization.

Event Coordinator
SIFA Collective | Swahili Fashion Week
As a fashion show event manager, I coordinate everything from the initial planning to the execution of the show. I find the right venue that fits the theme and requirements of the event. I manage the schedule and make sure designers, models, and technical staff are all on the same page for a smooth flow of activities. Handling logistics like lighting, sound, and seating arrangements is also part of my job to ensure everything runs perfectly on the day. Plus, I work with sponsors, media, and VIP guests to make sure they're happy and that the event gets great visibility.
Event Manager
The Social Collective | Employed between 2015 - 2021
Design Conception
I’m responsible for co-creating a visually stunning and cohesive design concept for events. This includes selecting appropriate decor elements, such as lighting, furniture, linens, and floral arrangements, to create the desired atmosphere. I collaborate with clients and other event professionals to ensure seamless execution of the event.
Logistic Management
To be successful in this role, I maintained accurate records and documentation of project activities and expenses. I collaborated with other departments within our team to ensure seamless day-of execution. I kept effective communication and organizational skills in order to manage the event budget and ensure all expenses are within the allocated funds.
Day-Of Management
On the day of the event, I’m responsible for managing onsite logistics, ensuring all equipment and services are delivered on time, and any issues are resolved quickly. I maintain a positive, fun and high-energy environment for all Social Collective team members as well as outside hires.
Brand Specialist
SIFA Collective | Contracted for 2020 - 2021
Vision
Empower women through high-quality products that inspire confidence. Our mission includes supporting fashion students at Sifa Threads, fostering successful small business owners who invest in their communities. Committed to excellence, we're proud to be a force for positive change.
Core Customer
Our core customer is 28 to 48 years old, usually a working woman who has children. She often works in an artistic field and "wants to have a unique look,". A woman who wants to live intentionally. Shopping second hand, farmers markets and small batches. She values shopping and spending ethically.
Storefront Style
We want guests to walk in and see that we are a specialty retailer that focuses on ethical retailing, rather than producing mass units or volume. We build independent artisans up rather than strip them down to get into a price point we want. We are going to give Anthropologie a run for its money.
