SIFA COLLECTIVE
Creative Direction, Brand Development and Marketing Assets
equipping women and rebuilding communities
My objective at Sifa Collective was to full rebrand their business into a modern looking online store and physical storefront in Dar es Sallam, Tanzani. I Directed all aspect of design and marketing and was apart of training new employees to promote the brand in every aspect of their job. It’s been a labor of love and I hope to visit the storefront in person soon!
Vision
We are on a mission to empower women and unlock their full potential. We do this by providing high-quality, artisanal products that inspire confidence and self-expression. We are confident in our ability to make a difference in the lives of women in our community. We are committed to giving back by supporting fashion students enrolled at Sifa Threads, a local school that invests in women to become successful small business owners who, in turn, will invest in their own communities. Our brand is built on a foundation of excellence, and we are proud to be a force for positive change in the world.
Values
Every product is not only beautiful, but is designed with purpose. Each and every product teaches a skill which can be an entire business platform for our graduated students. From the hand-stitching, fabric dying, screen printing and design work on clothing, each piece is a one-of-a-kind made by our students. 100% of sales go directly back to Sifa Threads. Sifa Threads is a registered 501 (c)(3) and all donations are tax deductible. Each and every product teaches a skill which can be an entire business platform for our graduated students. From the hand-stitching, fabric dying, screen printing and design work on clothing, each piece is a one-of-a-kind made by our students.
Voice
Our brand voice is one of inclusivity, respect, and admiration for the women who inspire us every day. We strive to create a space where they feel seen, heard, and valued for their contributions to the world of artisanal products. Whether you are an established business owner or just starting out, we are here to support you every step of the way. We are passionate about supporting women who are artisan business owners. We believe that their unique talents and skills are essential to building a diverse and vibrant community of creatives. We value their commitment to excellence and their dedication to their craft.
Visuals
Our visual branding is a blend of modern and clean design elements, infused with the warmth and character of handcrafted products. We believe in simplicity and elegance, and our brand reflects those values in every visual element we create. Our logo is designed to be timeless and versatile, with a sleek and modern font that conveys a sense of professionalism and sophistication. We use a neutral color palette that is both calming and inviting, and we incorporate textures and patterns that are inspired by the beauty of handmade artisanal products. Overall, our visual branding is a reflection of our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and modern design. We use Tanzanian textiles and up-cycled fabrics for each one-of-a-kind product. We describe our designs as African style with a western twist. #clothedinstrength
Core Customer
Our core customer is 28 to 48 years old, usually a working woman who has children. She often works in an artistic field and "wants to have a unique look,". A woman who wants to live intentionally. Shopping second hand, farmers markets and small batches. She values shopping and spending ethically.
Storefront Style
We want guests to walk in and see that we are a specialty retailer that focuses on ethical retailing, rather than producing mass units or volume. We build independent artisans up rather than strip them down to get into a price point we want. We are going to give Anthropologie a run for its money.
